Tea-ming Up: Taiwan Helps India Grow Tea

Tea is very important in both Taiwan and India.

In Taiwan, people enjoy bubble tea, high mountain tea (高山茶), and many
other kinds of tea.

In India, tea is also a big part of daily life.

Many people drink strong, sweet chai (印度奶茶) every day.

Even though Taiwan and India are far apart, we both love tea.

Now, Taiwan and India are working together to grow better tea using smart

Taiwan's National Chung Hsing University is working with India to make tea
farming smarter.

A team of researchers from the university visited Assam Agricultural
University and the Tocklai Tea Research Institute in India.

They shared new technology that can help farmers grow better tea.

The team showed a special system that can check tea tree health and help
farmers grow stronger plants.

They also looked for new partners (夥伴) to work with in India.

A professor says climate change (氣候變遷) is making it harder to grow good
tea.

That's why the team wants to improve their technology to help farmers produce
more and better-quality tea

Taiwan hopes to become a leader in smart farming

By working with India, Taiwan can share its advanced farming systems
(先進的農業技術) with the world.

The Taipei Representative Office in India (駐印度台北代表處) supports this
project and hopes Taiwan and India will continue working together.

This project is funded (資助) by Taiwan's National Science and Technology
Council.

It brings together experts in farming, electronics (電子), and information
technology (資訊科技) to create better farming solutions.

By sharing knowledge, Taiwan and India can grow better tea together.

The Man Who Saved Millions-With His Arm!

Donating blood and plasma can save lives.

Many people need blood after accidents or surgery

Some people, like pregnant women (孕婦), need special medicine made from
plasma (血漿).

But this medicine can only be made if people donate (捐血).

One man in Australia helped millions of babies by giving his blood for many
years.

James Harrison, known as the "Man with the Golden Arm," has passed away at
age 88.

He saved the lives of 2.4 million babies in Australia by donating blood and
plasma for over 60 years.

Harrison started donating after a life-saving operation when he was young.

Later, doctors found that his blood had a rare antibody called anti-D

This antibody helps pregnant women and their babies by preventing (預防) a
dangerous disease (一種危險的新生兒疾病).

From 1954 to 2018, Harrison donated blood 1,173 times, almost every two
weeks.

He never missed an appointment and never asked for anything in return.

His blood helped create more than 3 million doses of medicine
(藥廠用他的血製造了三百多萬劑的藥) for mothers in Australia.

His grandson and other family members now continue his legacy
as blood donors (捐血者).

Scientists are now working on a way to copy (複製) his life-saving antibody
in a lab.

This project, called "James in a Jar," may help even more people in the
future.

His incredible generosity (偉大善行) will never be forgotten.

James Harrison showed that one person can make a big difference.

Donating blood is safe, easy, and helps people in need.

If you can, think about becoming a blood donor.

You never know whose life you might save!
