Pokemon-Themed Plane

A Taiwanese airline has revealed (展示) its second Pokemon-themed airplane.
台灣一家航空公司展示第二架寶可夢主題的飛機。

It is called the 'Pikachu Jet CI2'.

This special plane is a partnership (合作) between the airline and The
Pokemon Company.

There are 13 different Pokemon painted on the outside!

You can see Pikachu, of course, which is one of the most famous!

There's also Dragonite (快龍), Snorlax (卡比獸) ...

The design also features a cute green Pokemon called Hoppip (毽子草) to show
that spring is here.

But summer is 'just around the corner'.

I can already feel the weather getting warmer.

Well, maybe it's time for you to hitch a ride on the Pokemon-themed jet!

Speaking of which, it also has Beautifly (狩獵鳳蝶) and Vivillon (彩粉蝶).

These two Pokemon look like butterflies to represent Taiwan's reputation as
the 'Butterfly Kingdom' (蝴蝶王國).

But the design isn't just about cartoons.

It also includes traditional floral tiles (花磚).

These patterns (圖案) come from old Taiwanese houses.

The airline said the design draws inspiration from Taiwan's traditional
decorative tile culture, and blends Taiwanese craftsmanship with modern
design.
航空公司表示，這些設計是從台灣傳統的瓷磚圖案中獲得靈感，結合傳統工藝與現代設計。

That's not all!

Inside the plane, almost everything is also Pokemon-themed.

That includes paper cups (紙杯), napkins (餐巾紙), and even the pillows!

Even the flight attendants (空服員) will wear special aprons (圍裙) whilst
they serve you.

The airline is also offering exclusive in-flight gifts.

These include Pikachu pens and sticky notes (便利貼).

And if you're hungry, it's offering Pokemon-themed children's meals too!

Where is this plane flying to?

The Pikachu Jet CI2 will fly to Tokyo, Japan.

But it will also fly on long-haul routes (長途航線).

This means it will go to far-away places like Seattle in the U-S and Sydney
in Australia.

Scientists Warn the Earth Is Heating Up Fast

Scientists say the Earth's climate (氣候) is now more out of balance (失衡)
than ever before.

This warning comes from the World Meteorological Organization (世界氣象組織),
a United Nations agency.

So, what does 'out of balance' mean?

It means the Earth is getting more heat energy (熱能) than it can release
(釋放).

This extra heat is mainly caused by greenhouse gases (溫室氣體) like carbon
dioxide (二氧化碳).

Because of this, the oceans are getting warmer (海洋正在變暖).

Last year, ocean temperatures reached record highs (創新高).

At the same time, ice caps (極地冰帽) are melting faster.

Scientists are also worried about a natural weather pattern called El Nino
(聖嬰現象).
科學家也擔心聖嬰現象，這是一種天然的氣候類型。

It is expected to begin later this year.

El Nino can make global temperatures even higher.

The Secretary-General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, gave a strong
warning.

He said the Earth is being pushed beyond its limits (極限).

He also said that many climate indicators (氣候指標) are "flashing red"
(亮紅燈), meaning danger.

He called on countries to move away from fossil fuels (石化燃料).

Instead, he said we should use renewable energy (再生能源), like solar
(太陽能) and wind power (風力發電).

Scientists also shared another important fact.

The past 11 years have been the warmest (最溫暖的) years on record.

Records go back to the year 1850.

In 2025, the Earth's average temperature was about 1.43°C higher than in
pre-industrial times (工業化之前).

This shows how much the planet has warmed.

This situation affects everyone.

It can lead to stronger storms, rising sea levels (海平面上升), and more
extreme weather (極端天氣).

What can we do about it, then?

Well, even small actions, like saving energy and reducing waste (減少浪費),
can help.
